One of Sheffield's most popular car dealerships is to re-open after eight years of closure.
The Gilder Group's Banner Cross site on Ecclesall Road South was one of the busiest dealerships in the city, serving thousands of Volkswagen drivers since Jack Gilder first opened the doors in the 1960s.
Explains Simon Hardwick, managing director of The Gilder Group: "The site has actually been semi-operational for several years as we've been using it as an additional preparation and storage area for our Honda and Mitsubishi outlets across the region.
"After we sold our Audi and Volkswagen dealerships in 2013, we made the decision to hold off from re-opening the site but ever since then, we've had customers asking us, almost on a weekly basis, when the Banner Cross site would once again become a car dealership.
"So, we're back by popular demand and we'll be making use of the prime location the site offers to sell a range of premium, yet affordable, approved used cars from Monday 12th September."
Continues Hardwick: "Our focus, as it always has been, will be to offer quality, reliable used cars from the German brands we have in-depth knowledge of as well as BMW, Mercedes, and other sought-after marques that we trust.
"Every used vehicle we will have available on the site will have undergone our rigorous quality and safety checks and include a comprehensive warranty to ensure trouble-free motoring."
Concludes Hardwick: "It's particularly exciting for me and many members of the Gilder Group team that Banner Cross is set to re-open. Lots of us have been with the business for decades and have worked at the site previously, so it's great to be back – and I know that lots of our customers share that same sentiment!"
